Abandonment.

So Evan is in Montana now and after seven months of always being together it's kind of rough. I forgot how much long distance sucks. I'm trying not to pout and be whiny but I am kind of resentful that my part in this doesn't come for another few months and I'm just stuck here until then. Indiana is just kind of bringing me down lately. He's out there starting this new job, finding a place to live, and making all of these new friends..and I'm happy but it's without me. :(

In other news the school that I applied to out there which is just a little community college for now because of location and everything else will be out-of-state tuition i.e. expensive, sent me a letter saying I was accepted. So now comes the fun part of wrangling transcripts and trying to get together my SAT scores but it means I start on elementary education, yay! I don't think I've ever been so excited for anything and if you have been reading this blog for a decent amount of time, or at least read the posts you will know I easily get excited! I am just worried to plan anything because the railroad seems to have a fun habit of changing things around last minute and that doesn't work well with me!

The good news is that all these little set backs have made me a little angrier than usual and I have been channeling that into exercise. My hope is to lose another 5 to 10 pounds and get into a steady size four now.

Wish me luck!

A New Adventure

It's been a long time since I've posted once again! I keep saying I'm going to make blogging an everyday thing and then here we are. I really am going to try now. I think I have a lot of new followers on here also, so I want to say to all of you. :) Hopefully I'll finally have time to focus on this and actually give you something to read.

The title of this post is pretty significant. I don't think I've mentioned it but back in October about a week before my last post I started dating a boy named Evan and now six months later we're still together and have some big news. Evan got a job in Montana with the railroad and he leaves for there this Friday. My plan is to go out there at the end of August. I'm sad that he's leaving but I'm excited for this new adventure. We would be moving to Billings which is the largest city in Montana and it looks like a really great place to live. Lots of cute shops and restaurants, beautiful parks and scenery, and the mountains!

I know that the next few months will be hard and I'm not excited to be in a long distance relationship again but knowing there is a light at the end of the tunnel really makes it better. Today was Evan's birthday and also since he's leaving soon I did my take on the "Open When Letters". My next post will be about those. I'm also getting ready to reopen my online resale shop so I'm excited about that! I'll post a link to that on here soon in case anyone wants to check it out. :)

I'll be back soon and if you're new then welcome to my blog!

I'm Back!

Hey everyone! I know it has been FOREVER, over a year now. A lot has happened and frankly I would have had millions of good blog posts but sometimes life gets in the way. In my last post I was switching schools, moving into a new apartment, and had a new boyfriend. All of that has changed. It wasn't in my plan but I decided to switch my major to business and am going to a local college to save some money and then hopefully transferring to IU. (My dream!)

Our apartment lease is up and I'm living at home for a while. Saving money and getting a brand new room. I have been living out of suitcases since June now and I am beyond ready! I will definitely be posting pictures once the room is all done.

On the topic of  the new boyfriend, we stayed together for a year. I even went out to Wyoming and stayed for a week. It was a great experience and we have stayed close but 1,000 miles is a long way and I would have been the one who had to move and at this point in my life that's not an option. We broke up at the beginning of June and my life has been one change after another since then. I loved him, always will and I hope we will always stay close. We go through periods of not talking but every time we do it's like nothing has ever changed. I learned a lot from this relationship and gained a best friend. Not something I regret but I don't advise anyone to do an LDR that has that far of a distance. But seriously, if you have never been to Wyoming, Go! It is absolutely beautiful.

Right now I am just working, going to school, spending time with friends, and actually dating. School is going really well. I actually just got chosen to represent my campus at our region wide Student Leadership Academy and I am super excited!

My plan from now on is to blog regularly again, I have missed it and I see I have gained some new followers so welcome!

Also if you want to check it out I have some eBay auctions going on right now! Here is that link: http://www.ebay.com/usr/irwinsa11

A change would do you good...

Well it has been almost four months since the last time I have blogged and a lot has changed since then. I have transferred schools. Instead of going back to University of Cincinnati I will be attending Ball State University which is only about 30 minutes north of my hometown. I still love UC. I plan on visiting a lot but even though I talked for months about how much I just wanted to be in a city, I don't belong there. Although sometimes I do wonder if I made the right decision but school starts in a week and we will see how this goes.

Along with the new school comes a new apartment! I am so excited because I thought I was going to be living at home for the next year and was about to off myself but fate intervened and my best friend had something come up and got out of her housing contract. She literally asked me on a Wednesday if I would want to room with her. Thursday we went and looked at apartments. We found one that we liked and by Friday we had signed a lease. Talk about things happening fast! That seems to be how everything in my life happens these days though.

Along with the new school and apartment comes a new boyfriend. His name is Keith, he's perfect, funny, and wonderful. Oh and he's a thousand miles away in Wyoming. Which sucks but we are making it work. I always said I would never get into a LDR but I had to make an exception this time. I think if you knew him you would understand why.

Right now I am just waiting for school start, still a PoliSci major...for now. I may or may not change to legal studies to be a paralegal. I just do not want to be in school for nine years and have $200,000+ in debt from law school. I just kept thinking that by the time I got out of school I would be thirty and then I would work probably 24/7 and when am I supposed to enjoy life in between all of that? I want a family. I want to be able to come home and make my husband dinner. That kind of thing which is very un-Shelby like but shit changes. It happens. Most of the time it is for the better.

Kayla and I are also trying to put together this apartment by September 20th and for me that is daunting. I want everything to perfect and beautiful and organized. Life isn't like that and this apartment probably won't either. I have been getting way too excited about mixing bowls and baking dishes lately and it scares me. Maybe I am more domestic than I thought? I guess we will find out!

I really am going to try and blog more often these days. I foresee a lot of DIY projects in this blogs future..
Stay tuned!

Hey, it's ok...

This is my take on the popular Glamour column. Enjoy!

Hey, it's ok..

-to not mind just being the girl he calls/texts at four in the morning. As long as that's all he is to you.
-if the best thing that has happened in a while was finding out that Jack and Coke comes pre-mixed in a can.
-to just want time to yourself.
-if you can only date guys six feet or taller. (I like to feel small.)
-to think a man is only a man if he can shoot whiskey.
-to just not care. (Theme of my life as of late.)
-to love Justin Bieber. I like his new songs, his voice has dropped and he's kind of hot now.

So I know it's been a long time since I've posted anything. I'm going to try and be better about it. I just need to start documenting my ideas when I get them!

Hope everyone is doing well! :)
