Weekly Wellness

Running quotes

This post is going to be part of a new series I decided to write. I want to feature one wellness post a week because I am trying to not just lose weight but get healthier overall.

Redbook is just about the only magazine I read these days. I feel like it may be a little mature for me but I like things that I realistic and helpful for real life. In the June issue there was a workout plan that talked about alternating walking and jogging in the beginning to work your way up to running the full time, here is the link to that:  http://www.redbookmag.com/health-wellness/advice/how-to-become-a-runner-and-lose-weight#slide-1.

I thought this sounded easy enough, you know I've lost twenty pounds, my job requires me to basically be running 24/7. WRONG. The 30 second intervals I spent running were terrible and I mainly remembered why I hate it so much. It also doesn't help that my road is more of just a giant pothole. I do plan on sticking to this though because I know it will make some improvements in the long run.

(Also, that picture isn't mine.)

A New Direction

In the past I have written a lot about relationships, sports, and politics. While this has gained me a decent amount of followers I think, it's time to be a little more grown up. With a move to Montana on the horizon and a new major that is something I'm very passionate about, I really want to focus on those things. I want to take my blog more in the direction of a lifestyle blog. You can expect more posts about DIY, cooking, living on a budget, and budget style! Thrifting is something that I have recently gotten into and I have found a few good deals. We are also going to be furnishing and decorating an apartment on a budget, as well as being big kids and having to cook for ourselves, by groceries, etc. This is basically my transformation into big girl life! Most of you have been with me since I was a junior in high school and I'm hoping you'll stay for this chapter in my life as well.

Abandonment.

So Evan is in Montana now and after seven months of always being together it's kind of rough. I forgot how much long distance sucks. I'm trying not to pout and be whiny but I am kind of resentful that my part in this doesn't come for another few months and I'm just stuck here until then. Indiana is just kind of bringing me down lately. He's out there starting this new job, finding a place to live, and making all of these new friends..and I'm happy but it's without me. :(

In other news the school that I applied to out there which is just a little community college for now because of location and everything else will be out-of-state tuition i.e. expensive, sent me a letter saying I was accepted. So now comes the fun part of wrangling transcripts and trying to get together my SAT scores but it means I start on elementary education, yay! I don't think I've ever been so excited for anything and if you have been reading this blog for a decent amount of time, or at least read the posts you will know I easily get excited! I am just worried to plan anything because the railroad seems to have a fun habit of changing things around last minute and that doesn't work well with me!

The good news is that all these little set backs have made me a little angrier than usual and I have been channeling that into exercise. My hope is to lose another 5 to 10 pounds and get into a steady size four now.

Wish me luck!

A New Adventure

It's been a long time since I've posted once again! I keep saying I'm going to make blogging an everyday thing and then here we are. I really am going to try now. I think I have a lot of new followers on here also, so I want to say to all of you. :) Hopefully I'll finally have time to focus on this and actually give you something to read.

The title of this post is pretty significant. I don't think I've mentioned it but back in October about a week before my last post I started dating a boy named Evan and now six months later we're still together and have some big news. Evan got a job in Montana with the railroad and he leaves for there this Friday. My plan is to go out there at the end of August. I'm sad that he's leaving but I'm excited for this new adventure. We would be moving to Billings which is the largest city in Montana and it looks like a really great place to live. Lots of cute shops and restaurants, beautiful parks and scenery, and the mountains!

I know that the next few months will be hard and I'm not excited to be in a long distance relationship again but knowing there is a light at the end of the tunnel really makes it better. Today was Evan's birthday and also since he's leaving soon I did my take on the "Open When Letters". My next post will be about those. I'm also getting ready to reopen my online resale shop so I'm excited about that! I'll post a link to that on here soon in case anyone wants to check it out. :)

I'll be back soon and if you're new then welcome to my blog!

I'm Back!

Hey everyone! I know it has been FOREVER, over a year now. A lot has happened and frankly I would have had millions of good blog posts but sometimes life gets in the way. In my last post I was switching schools, moving into a new apartment, and had a new boyfriend. All of that has changed. It wasn't in my plan but I decided to switch my major to business and am going to a local college to save some money and then hopefully transferring to IU. (My dream!)

Our apartment lease is up and I'm living at home for a while. Saving money and getting a brand new room. I have been living out of suitcases since June now and I am beyond ready! I will definitely be posting pictures once the room is all done.

On the topic of  the new boyfriend, we stayed together for a year. I even went out to Wyoming and stayed for a week. It was a great experience and we have stayed close but 1,000 miles is a long way and I would have been the one who had to move and at this point in my life that's not an option. We broke up at the beginning of June and my life has been one change after another since then. I loved him, always will and I hope we will always stay close. We go through periods of not talking but every time we do it's like nothing has ever changed. I learned a lot from this relationship and gained a best friend. Not something I regret but I don't advise anyone to do an LDR that has that far of a distance. But seriously, if you have never been to Wyoming, Go! It is absolutely beautiful.

Right now I am just working, going to school, spending time with friends, and actually dating. School is going really well. I actually just got chosen to represent my campus at our region wide Student Leadership Academy and I am super excited!

My plan from now on is to blog regularly again, I have missed it and I see I have gained some new followers so welcome!

Also if you want to check it out I have some eBay auctions going on right now! Here is that link: http://www.ebay.com/usr/irwinsa11
